Surname Saturday - Wallace - Ross

 
Today's surnames are Wallace and Ross. Two of the children of Henry Hampton and Sarah Ann Ross Wallace married into my Purvis and Brock lines. Nancy Elizabeth Wallace Purvis is my grand aunt; having married my grand uncle John W. Purvis.  William Thomas Wallace married Rosella Brock. Rosella is my first cousin twice removed.

Henry Hampton Wallace was born about 1856 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. He is counted in the 1880, 1900, 1910 and 1920 Census. 1 2 3  He died on 21 May 1927 at the age of 71 in Mt. Croghan, Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Henry was buried on 23 May 1927 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina, United States. 

Henry Hampton Wallace and Sarah Ann Ross were married about 1870 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. Sarah Ann Ross, daughter of John Ross and Mrs. Brigman, was born about 1855 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. 4 5 6  She is the sister mentioned in the article on James Ross finding his lost brother written about earlier in this blog. She died on 4 Dec 1918 at the age of 63 in Anson, North Carolina.

           +5            iv.   Nancy Elizabeth Wallace, born 21 Apr 1881, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married John William Purvis, 25 Aug 1901, McFarlan,Anson Co.,NC; died 19 Jul 1968, Morven, Anson, North Carolina.
           +6             v.   James Franklin Wallace, born 8 Nov 1883, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Nancy Katherine West, January 2, 1904 ; died 7 Apr 1947, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
           +7            vi.   Fannie Pauline Wallace, born Mar 1887, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina; married Lonnie J. Jackson; married male Howard, abt 1901; died 28 May 1952, Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Lonnie is the second husband of Fannie Pauline Wallace.

           10            ix.   Jackson Wallace was born in Aug 1891 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. 8 He died in 1959 at the age of 68 in Jefferson, Chesterfield, South Carolina. He was buried in 1959 at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson, Chesterfield, South Carolina.

  1. Hey Charlie! Quick FYI-Randolph Wallace was first married to my 2nd Great Grandmother, Millie Johnson (daughter of Stanmore Johnson and Sarah Ann Dabbs).

    1. Bonnie, Do you know the dates for Millie Johnson Wallace. I entered her memorial on findagrave but her stone has no dates. I could not find a death certificate for her.

      I'm not sure how accurate my dates are. The dates I have come from a distant Johnson family member. Birth: 30 Oct 1866-Death: April 1925. I will be attending the Johnson Family Reunion in Chesterfield on Sept 2nd and will confirm the information.
