J. Henry Davis Obit

J. Henry Davis, a young farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Davis, of Cheraw, died in a hospital in Florence last Sunday. The body was laid to rest on Monday at Zoar Methodist Church. The funeral service conducted by the Rev. J. L. Tyler. Mr. Davis had been ill for several days, and from the first of his illness little hope was entertained for his recovery. Beside his parents, and a young bride of a few months, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Herbert Thomas; and I . J. Davis, Lucius Davis and three younger brothers.1

There several conflicts in the birth and death of Henry Davis. Both his obituary and SC Death Certificate #20273 shows that he died on November 4, 1917 while his tombstone shows November 3, 1917. 2

The 1900 Census has his birth as Mar 1896 and the tombstone has his birth as April 18, 1897. 3
J. Henry Davis, leaves his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John C. Davis, a young bride of a few months. I haven’t identified his young bride yet.

J. Henry Davis is my second cousin twice removed.
