Tombstone Tuesday~Emerson Coyt and Lucy Brock Rivers

Emerson Coyt Rivers was born on 9 Mar 1878 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. He was the son of Squire James Rivers and Emily Ellen White.


Emerson Coyt and Lucy Ellen Brock were married mid-1899 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. The 1900 census shows them married 1 year with 1 child, Bryan, age 1/12. Bryan was born May 27, 1900 and died Mar. 8, 1907.

Lucy Ellen Brock, was the daughter of Eli Brock and Mary Jane White. She was born on 27 Aug 1876 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina.

 Emerson Coyt Rivers died on February 21, 1924 at the age of 45. His wife, Lucy Ellen Brock Rivers died on 26 Oct 1936 at the age of 60 in Chesterfield, Chesterfield, South Carolina. They both are buried in the Brock Cemetery, Brock’s Mill, Chesterfield County, South Carolina.

Emerson Coyt Rivers and Lucy Ellen Brock had eight children; three son and five daughters.

Emerson and Lucy are my 2nd Cousins three times removed.
