Stephen and Roxanna raised a family of seven children, 3 sons and 4 daughters, in Chesterfield County South Carolina. Their first born a son was born about 1840; it is believed that they were married before 1840. 

Stephen proposed the question of Succession form the Union prior to the Civil War.

“the Hon. J. W. BLAKENEY, our Senator and by our Representatives Colonels MACFARLAN and PRINCE, and also by Col. S. JACKSON. At the close of Col. JACKSON’S speech he submitted the question of submission, or of resistance by immediate Secession, to a vote of the battalion; upon requesting all in favor of the latter to advance four paces, the whole battalion advanced four paces, leaving not a solitary man for submission. The course of our Senator and Representatives was unanimously and most enthusiastically endorsed.” ¹

Stephen Jackson died in 1887 and was buried in the Mayesville Cemetery on the North and South Carolina State Line. This cemetery has been completely destroyed and erased over the past 127 years since Stephen was buried. Roxanna Jackson is buried in the Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery.²

Stephen Jackson is my 2nd Cousin 5 times removed.
