Anna J. Douglass Sellers Final Resting Place

Phillip Albert Sellers, son of Elijah Sellers and Sarah Purvis died 6 April 1896 leaving his wife Anna J. Douglass and  seven of his eight children surviving him.1

In the 1900 Census for Chesterfield County, Anna J. Sellers can be found in the Courthouse Township with three of her surviving children; Hardy, age 24, Daniel C., age 20 and Mary, age 15.2

In 1910, she was living in Green Bay, Covington County, Alabama with her daughter Sarah Jane “Sallie” and son-in-law, Benjamin J. Hilton.3

I had reports that Anna Jane Douglass Sellers passed away in 1914 in Elba, Coffee County, Alabama but no confirmation of these facts. Her death date as reported on her FindAGrave Memorial is 7 February 1914. She is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Elba, Alabama. I could not find her in the Alabama 1881-1974 Death and Burial Index.4

  2. Yes, it is.In the days before FindAGrave you would post on the surname or county bulletin board and crossed you finger that someone would take on the task of chesking the local cemetery survey, if one existed, or may be go take a look if you knew the precise Cemetery.
