The parents of Miles Hurst are unknown to me. Miles married Theatus Thurman, the said daughter of John Thurman and Anne Perkins.

Miles and Theatus marriage date is unknown due to the loss of “public records” during the Civil War for Chesterfield County. However, based on the birth of their first known child, Luke Hurst, in 1831 its most likely they were married about 1829-30. They were not found in the 1830 Census for Chesterfield County.

Miles and Theatus had 11 children; 7 lived to adulthood, 6 daughters and one son.
Theatus died 5 May 1873 and Miles passed away on 24 November 1895. They are buried in the Hurst Cemetery, Chesterfield, South Carolina.1 2 3
