James Lawson Teeter was born in Pope County Arkansas, a son of Martin A. Teeter and his wife b. Sarah Jane “Sallie’ Petray. His parents had migrated from Cabarrus County, North Carolina between 1838 and 1843.

James Lawson married Sarah Ellen Brooks on 7 July 1870 in Pope County, Arkansas.  To this union were born 10 children; eight sons and two daughter. Their youngest son, died as an infant in January 1894.

James Lawson Teeter is my 2nd Cousin 3 times removed.
