Amanuensis Monday~Abraham Parr Descendants Selling Estate Lands to William Turnage

Today’s subject is Land Deed, Deed Book 10, pages 547-548 between the descendants of Abraham Parr to William Turnage.1

County of Chesterfield}
Know all men by these presents that we John Boone and wife Mary A. Boone, John Purvis and wife Rebecca Purvis, William Crowley and wife Emeline Crowley and Samuel Parr heirs and distributees of Abraham A. PARR deceased in the State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred dollars to us in hand paid at and before the sealing of these presents by William Turnage in the State and County aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargain sell and release unto the said William Turnage all that piece parcel or tract of land lying situate and being in the county and state aforesaid and bounded by lands of Alex McQueen, Arch Currie & others containing Forty Acres more or less reference to a deed from Stephen Jackson Sheriff to Abraham A. PARR dated sixth day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty-two will more or less fully appear_______ Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining. To have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said William Turnage his heirs and assigns forever. And we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs Executors and Administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said William Turnage his heirs and assigns and against ourselves our heirs and all and every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Witness our hands and seals this 16th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

Craig witnessed the same.

The parties named within this land deed (Mary A. Parr Boone, Rebecca Parr Purvis, Emeline Parr Crowley and Samuel Merkerson Parr) are all  children of Samuel Parr and his wife Elizabeth Harris. They are the grandchildren of Abraham N. Parr.
